As a career educator, I love the idea of fun educational gifts. I’ve included my top picks for educational gift ideas for the 2018 holiday season in this post. Hopefully you will find something your child will love!
Educational Gift Ideas
Bug Catcher
I bought this bug catcher to use as part of our preschool science unit. It is fun and easy to collect bugs with this catcher. I love that I don’t have to touch them and my children can easily inspect with build in magnifier.
Jumbo Magnifiers
These durable magnifying glasses can be used by children of all ages to get a better look at bugs and other things they want to study. I usually grab one when my 40+ year old eyes can’t see clearly to read small print on labels or recipes.
Magnetic Alphabet or Drawing Board
I bought this alphabet board as a fun way to work on letter formation with my children. It was an hit with my children and they love it.
These math cube blocks work well for primary math work, but also are fun to build with. The pieces snap together to build various designs.

Casio Mini-Sized Keyboard
I bought this small keyboard for my children to use with the Piano by Number Music program. The smaller keys are perfect for smaller hands, but are not too small. My kids love this little keyboard and dancing to the included sample songs.
My 4 and 6 year olds have loved learning basic guitar skills using this fun Loog Mini guitar. CLICK HERE to read my full review.

Evan-Moor Activity Books
Evan-Moor has a variety of fun activity books that children love. Any of their STEM or Never-bored Activity Books would make a fun present for children who like making and doing projects. The Skill Sharpener Activity book series is also a favorite at my house (available for grades preK-6) and my top recommended curriculum for preschoolers.

Ed Emberley Drawing Books
Ed Emberley How-to-Draw books are a favorite at my house. The step-by-step drawing guides will help your child . These books are recommended for ages 7 and up, but younger children can follow along as you draw the items together.
